This slice of cake was mine, all mine…

On my birthday, in the summer, I was taken for afternoon tea to Fortnum & Mason, a department store in Piccadilly, London. As we were enjoying our tea, sandwiches, scones and little cakes, the piano struck up Happy Birthday and this slice of cake with lit candle (I’d had to blow it out before I got the chance to take a photo) was presented to me. 
After tea we had a wander round the shop and enjoyed browsing the oh-so-expensive goodies on sale in each department. Have a look at their website and you’ll get an idea of the opulent ambiance and merchandise.
It was a marvellous birthday treat.

Everything was yummy, and I’d eaten so much that I had to take the birthday cake home with me to eat later.
