Isn’t the internet a wonderful thing? Apart from not being able to imagine life without it now, it is fantastic for stumbling across pictures of things you thought were long forgotten. As usual I was looking for something else and saw these pictures, which brought memories flooding back…
Potato puffs bring back memories of primary school in the 1960s where they were sold at break time along with packets of crisps. I can’t remember the taste, or whether they were my favourites or not, but this picture took me right back to school.
Another strong school memory here, but this time secondary school. Aztecs were bars of nougat and caramel covered with Cadbury’s chocolate. Very tasty.
And whatever happened to Good News chocolates? This picture brought back memories of Saturday evening at home, watching television with my parents and sister, sharing a box of them as a rare and special treat, and hoping I’d be able to get the Coffee Dessert, or Creme Tangerine.
They say that smell is the sense that brings back the strongest memories, but seeing pictures of long forgotten things can pack a punch too.
Does anyone else remember any of these?

Came via The Laughing Housewife – I had to click on you because of the Snoopy gravatar.
I think I’m too young for all of these! The Aztec bar sounds delicious though.

Hello – nice to have you drop by. Are you a Snoopy fan too? 🙂

Now, that’s something I don’t have!

I vaguely remember Aztec, but not the others.
Do you remember Tex bars? A hard, chewy caramel toffee covered in chocolate. I wish they’d bring them back.

I don’t remember Tex bars – but they sound lovely. Maybe if I saw a picture, it would jog my memory – I’ll have to do a bit of a search.

No, we didn’t have any of those in Australia, but I’m sure there would be equivalent items. Wagon wheels were a great favourite. They are still sold but sadly they’re half the size they used to be.

I didn’t ever have a Wagon Wheel – they didn’t appeal to me when I was a child – but I do remember other people eating them and they were HUGE. I’ve actually tried one recently, for the first time. I agree, it was half the size I remember. I didn’t like it very much though.

I don’t know any of those things. Potato puffs – sounds interesting.

Potato Puffs aren’t made now, as far as I know. I wonder what happened to them?

We do not have any of those but I bet it was fun to see the names again after so many years 🙂
