  1. When I was trying to teach students about the apostrophe, it was a bit of a losing battle!

  2. Oh no, they’re at it again. I think misused apostrophes are taking over the world. And jmgoyder is right, no matter how often I teach it, children still put them in before every s they write. Grrrrr!

  3. Did you tell them about it????

  4. Agghhh! I’d be so tempted to scribble it out with a marker pen!

  5. The Portuguese love to add apostrophes. They do it to make shops’ names and other things look more English! Only Heaven knows why they’d want to do that! I tell my English students that apostrophes are overused to death but I keep having to cross them out in almost every piece of work they hand in. Poor misunderstood apostrophe!

  6. Makes me absolutely crazy!

  7. I pity the apostrophe police. Their job is never done.

  8. I’ll put my hand up and confess that I’m guilty of my fair share of crimes against apostrophes.
I can only promise to try harder in 2013. 🙂

Now it's your turn
