I used to be indecisive…

…but now I'm not so sure

Friday letters – the Cadbury’s Creme Egg edition

Dear Cadbury’s,  I heard some shocking, nay disturbing, news earlier in the week: you have changed the chocolate you use to make your creme eggs!  I can’t believe it!  No longer will the delicious fondant centre be encased in a Dairy Milk shell – now it is going to be some sort of ghastly ‘standard cocoa mix chocolate’.  What on earth do you think you are doing??  Why are you meddling with things?? No doubt it is some kind of a money saving move, but you are going to lose legions of devoted fans – fans who buy the eggs because they like the way they taste.  I haven’t bought one yet – I was saving that treat for nearer Easter, but now I’m not sure I will buy one at all. And another thing… you are now going to be selling them in boxes of five, rather than six.  It’s wrong, just wrong.

New Creme Eggs

Dear France, We had an excellent visit for a few days at the end of last week.  Your mountain views were fabulous, and I saw the sparkling snow that I love.  I enjoyed walking and snow-shoeing and breathing in the clean, clear mountain air.

Dear French supermarkets,  You are SO much more interesting than our UK ones and it was lucky I was flying, with a baggage allowance, or I might have been tempted to buy all sorts of tasty things, not just the tin of delicious hot chocolate powder which I couldn’t come home without.

Happy Friday everyone!

  1. I read that about Creme Eggs early in the week. Suddenly I don’t miss Creme Eggs any more. If it’s not Dairy Milk it’s not really a Creme Egg anyway!!

  2. [shakes head in despair] I can’t believe we are discussing Easter Eggs only two weeks after Christmas!!

  3. Thanks for warning me about the Creme Eggs. I won’t ever buy another one. I want to remember them as they were in the ‘good old days’. 😦

  4. I haven’t ever had a Creme Egg and now I won’t need to if they’re going to muck around with the recipe. How lovely to pop over to France for a few days. Maybe next time you will have to take the car so you can stock up at the supermarket.

  5. Fortunately, I detest Creme Eggs so this news is not upsetting to me at all. Stick to a lovely Dairy Milk Buttons Easter Egg – you can’t go wrong 🙂

Now it's your turn
