Bench Series: November – benches with messages #2

For the month of November, Jude at Travel Words has asked us to share benches which have messages.

This one is in a little garden in Fowey, Cornwall; a pretty spot which has been created on the site of the Old Grammar School.

Old Grammar School bench

bench inscriptionTheir view from the bench should have been of the boats on the river estuary and looking over to the hill on the other side and the village of Polruan on the steep cliffs. The day I was there, the view was almost non existent because it was raining (you can see the water drops on the plaque) and the cloud was so low that it was almost touching the masts of the boats.
