I used to be indecisive…

…but now I'm not so sure

Bird watching

I spotted this grey heron when we went for a walk along by the canal one evening this week.  He seemed completely oblivious to us standing there watching him, so intent was he on looking for his supper.

I hope you have a good weekend.

To read more sets of six words for a Saturday head over to Cate at Show My Face.

  1. Hope his patience turned into a tasty dinner for him!

  2. I suddenly have a craving for some fish! Lovely picture.

    My six words!

  3. At our house, the birds just fly over to the table and eat the cat food with the cats watching. But we don’t have birds the size herons. He has to be intent, though. It would be hard not being able to go to the store and buy what they need every day. 🙂 Have a great weekend.

    • Some birds are very bold, aren’t they? We’ve not had a heron in the garden of this house, but we did in a house we lived in before – but that was because we had a pond. In this house some of our neighbours have ponds, so there is sometimes a heron sitting on a nearby roof awaiting its opportunity to go fishing!

      • We are not in heron territory. We get woodpeckers, doves, killdeer, bluebirds, vultures, owls – inland bird types! I’m jealous. Have a great rest of your weekend, Elaine 🙂

  4. Great photo that he let you take!

  5. I love the way they kind of ‘hunch up’ 🙂 Another manic week?

    • He was standing up straight some of the time and then adopted this hunched up look. Perhaps it helps him to focus, or relax his neck? Yes, it was another busy week, but I’m not really complaining because it involved a nice amount of socialising. 🙂

  6. I love your heron, Elaine. Nice picture too. We had them until we moved last August.

  7. Striking birds, Elaine – and a striking photo of one as well! Happy Saturday!

  8. He looks very serious. Maybe he had already spotted his supper but didn’t want you to know in case you expected a share.

  9. Great photo! Hope his dinner showed up!

  10. I love Herons. Yours looks a bit sorry for himself. 😕

  11. Herons are always special. Jock is just finishing an embroidery of a pair of them.

  12. Herons are so fun to watch!

Now it's your turn
