OCTOBER ALREADY – HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?

I’m sure last week it was only March, or maybe April?

EDIBLE SWEET CHESTNUTS ABUNDANT ON TREES

If only I knew what to do with them, I could harvest hundreds of them from the trees in the park.

I didn’t get a photo of what is inside the spiky covering, but this is what they look like.

  1. We had a huge horse chestnut in our yard when we had the house in New York. A friend from Ohio always carried a chestnut in her pocket like a worry stone. Perhaps you could roast them over an open fire. . .😉

  2. I think you will find several YouTube videos on the sweet chestnut that will give you the information you need.

  3. beautiful photos and awesome 6 word Saturday! Have a great weekend!

  4. Indeed. Big thumbs up.

  5. The year is flying by. Nice pics.

  6. October couldn’t come soon enough for me. August and September are insufferably hot here in the desert.

    • I suppose you have a different attitude to it – we are glad when we have a few days of ‘heatwave’, so I am never glad when October comes and it means the end of warm days for us. I would be like you if I lived in the desert, though , happy to have some cooler days ahead.

Now it's your turn
