I used to be indecisive…

…but now I'm not so sure

Friday letters – the it’s February already edition

Dear four way stop signs at intersections,  You are a very useful arrangement (dare I say you might actually be better than a roundabout in some cases?) and I think it’s great that when traffic lights stop working, or are flashing red, all the drivers immediately revert to behaving according to your rules rather than there being some sort of free-for-all.

Dear birds,  I looks like spring might be in the air?  There’s lots of pairing up going on, so I wonder how long it’s going to be before we see chicks.

Dear Aqua Fit instructor,  I’m so sorry that you have lost your voice and had to conduct yesterday’s class using sign language (though it seemed to go very well).  However… perhaps you shouldn’t have been shouting and singing quite so loudly at the Elton John concert on Tuesday night!

Dear Self,  Well done for reading 36 books in 2018.  Updating the ‘Books I’ve Read’ page tells me that 2018 was a record year – your previous best was thirty one books in 2016.  Keep up the good work – there’s still a big pile of unread books waiting for you.

Dear cheese,  I am feeling the benefits of not eating quite so much of you – although it is hard when there is a tasty camembert in the fridge just waiting to be baked…

Have a good Friday – I hope your weather isn’t too wet/snowy/chilly/hot/dry.

  1. wow… what parallel universe are you in? despite abundant 4-way stops around here, when signals go out it things always become a free for all, especially for the people who are making left turns and think they’re supposed to get their own turn rather than going forward with the rest of the cars on their side, letting the opposing cars pass, then turning behind them. Makes me NUTS!! The main roundabout in Long Beach is also and insanity-fueled free for all… no lines = driving wherever people want, with no signals or looking or anything (despite the sign that says USE SIGNALS).

i love the Savage Chickens comic!
SUPER impressed with the reading!! I managed a few school books but that’s it… lost my drive for non-mandatory reading in 2018.

  2. I had a giggle at the cartoon. I also am feeling the benefit of not eating so much cheese. It’s very difficult to just walk past the cheese counter though. 😦 Ripe Camembert is just so delicious. Well done on your reading mountains of books. Very impressive indeed.

  3. I have tried to love Camembert but can’t, sometimes I forget and buy some and then I get home and remember that I cannot stand the smell…

  4. I do like roundabouts, but I never assume that anyone else knows how to use them properly. Approaching with care is the key. 🙂

Now it's your turn - what would you like to say?
